Malaysian Water Academy has organised 2 days training courses on Basic Water Treatment Plant Design and Analysis of Pumping System. A total number of 24 and 22 participants attended the above courses respectively. The appointed trainer was from one of MWA Institutional Members. The next batch of the training will be conducted. The Water Malaysia 2015 Conference & Exhibition held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 22nd – 24th April 2015 was opened by Deputy Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, YB Dato’ Seri DiRaja Mahdzir bin Khalid. Also present was the Secretary General, YBhg. Datuk Loo Took Gee as a Keynote Speaker on the first day and other presenters were from government departments/agencies, water operators and companies from the water industries. Incognizance of the need to adopt an integrated long term approach in planning and utilizing our water resources, managing wastewater or used water and the conservation of our environment as well as ensuring its sustainability, we have chosen to take on the theme: “Water Security and The Environment: A National Agenda” for the Conference. About 300 participants attended and over 60 papers presented at the Conference. A half day NRW Workshop on Pipeline Condition Assessment was held on the last day. MWA wishes to thank all presenters, supporters and also secretariat for their time and effort towards the successful of the event.

MWA 27th Annual General Meeting held at Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Kota Kemuning Shah Alam on 25th April 2015 was attended by 40 members. The announcement of result of Election of Office Bearers for 2015/2017 Session was made after the AGM. The meeting ended at 1 pm with lunch.

Two topics had been discussed in this briefing covering the Misconcept between Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH) and Polyaliminium Chloride Type 3 (PAC 3) and the Process Monitoring and Control System for treating difficult water was held at MWA office on ground floor. A total of 22 participants attended this technical talk including MWA Group Executive Director.
A total of 41 members attended including MWA Council Members to the briefing to discuss on the progress of Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant. It was held at MWA premise at Sri Hartamas. The presenter is The Head of Langat 2 Project from Pengurusan Aset Air Berhad (PAAB).

A total of 34 of participants included MWA Deputy President was attended in technical visit to Sg Labu where is owned by Konsortium Air Selangor Sdn Bhd. The General Manager of KASB had briefing in slide presentation and then they brought the participants on the site visit.

MWA invites members to make their presence visible in ASPIRE 2015 in Beijing by submitting quality technical papers to showcase Malaysia vast experiences and achievements of the Water & Wastewater sectors to the world at the conference and exhibition.
Members are welcomed to submit abstract to the ASPIRE Organising Committee with a note to MWA for us to track the members contribution. For information, Malaysia will host the 2017 ASPIRE Conference & Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur at it would be appropriate for a high profile presence of Malaysia’s delegation and contribution in order to take opportunity to promote the ASPIRE 2017 in Kuala Lumpur.
Welcome to Malaysia Water Association(MWA), the premier and leading national organisation for networking and technological advancement for water professionals involve in the complete water cycle.
The newly elected office bearers for the 2013/2015 session comprises of professionals from policy makers, water operators consultants, contractors and suppliers which speaks well for the Association. We thank you for your continuous support.
Special Interest Group (SIG) has been formed to focus on various and immediate issues affecting the industry. SIG will focus on selected issues, deliberate and strategize on how to make our voice heard to policy makers and other stakeholders. The objective is to elevate selected issues to the next level closer to a solution for the benefits of the industry and the consumers at large.
MWA will continue and accelerate its human capital development program for the industry via Malaysian Water Academy through various workshops and training programs with the main objective of having more competent workforce in the industry.
Our conferences and industry forums will be more exciting in the coming session as the industry is ready for an open and transparent discussion on issues affecting the industry and also on consumer expectations for better services. The conferences will play a leading role in promoting technological exchange and innovation, research and development and case studies for an efficient and sustainable industry.
