IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition

16 - 21 September
Busan, Korea
To all members of The Malaysian Water Association/Associates,
In Busan in 1441 Jang Yeong-sil developed Korea's first rain gauge. So began a proud tradition of scientific and technical discovery that is still in evidence in Korea's water sector today. In 2012 the city will mark another proud tradition by bringing the world's water practitioners together at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition.

MWA is delighted to inform that we are organising a technical tour to IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Busan, Korea from 15 to 23 September 2012.

The event is a valuable and unique opportunity for the community of world-leading water professionals to meet, exchange ideas, explore the state of the art and debate the key issues underlying the science and practice of water. It is also where the entire water community congregates once every two years and where IWA specialist groups showcase their work and plan for future activities.

Presentations at the congress relate to all aspects of the water cycle and are organised around these key themes:

  • Integrated urban water systems
  • Managing utilities and their assets
  • Water treatment technologies
  • Wastewater treatment and reuse
  • Water and health
  • Water resources supply and sustainability
  • Water, climate and energy

The WWCE Busan will give you unparalleled professional and business networking opportunities and the scientific and technical programme will cover forward-looking themes, with opportunities to share experiences and innovations in research, science and technology. Through presentations and discussion, you will have the opportunity to make a contribution to the way that water is managed around the world.

IWA is expecting 5,000 delegates, exhibition staff and trade visitors in Busan, with a strong contingent from Asia. We are extending this invitation to all of our members/associates to participate in this technical tour organised by the association. Detailed information about the event is available at the website above.
