MWA Technical Visit to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MMD)

The effects of climate change and the uncertainties that ensued is of great concern particularly to the Water services and our consumers. Hence, in regards to current climate condition floods, drought and the coming El Nino, this visit is timely and would be of interest to our members and water industry to have a first-hand knowledge on the weather condition and its effect on our water sources in near future/extended period; An updates on possible earthquakes and/or tsunami, meteorology forecasting system and guidance on emergency relief, together with the opportunity to see the MMD operations room and its facilities would be an advantage to us.
